vintage 1950s and 60s A Zildjian 14" New Beat hi-hat cymbal marriage 892g top over 1236g bottom

$250.00

A mating of different orphan 14s, these make a classic New Beat pair. The no dot stamp 50s bottom cymbal (measuring 14 1/8”) was likely a field crash and makes a perfect New Beat bottom. End result? Classic tight closed sound and pleasing open slosh.

Cymbals are in good shape, free from cracks or other funny business. Bottom cymbal has 1 small rough spot on the edge that was hard to photograph.

Moving pictures are worth a thousand words so check out the video.

Recordings are made with 5A sticks in a treated room with a pair of Coles 4038s (spaced pair), Beta52, and KSM 137 in order to represent the drums and cymbals as naturally as possible.
